In Short - don’t put AI on top of inconsistent or poorly governed data.

vibeaccounting explained by llm and posted to vibecoded page which leverages claude-authored horrendous page scroll hijack, no thanks.

to add insult to injury: "author" learned nothing, and there's nothing to learn.

The smooth scroll / animation or whatever it is makes it so hard to read / use

I take a small bit of joy in disabling JS for these sites. The content still loads just fine. The scroll jacking degraded quality for no reason.

Why would anyone who actually wants me to read their site do this?

Sadly they never do, UI just gets worse and worse. Even before LLMs became as prevalent, and even after. ;)

agree. it also breaks the gesture to navigate back, for some reason. (macos thing)

Just coming here to ask any person from moniepoint to remove your "smooth scroll" as overriding any OS native behavior for something custom for the sake of subjective "beautiful" is destroying users habits, which make it immediately a very bad design. I loaded the site, saw the scroll, closed the page.

I won't read your content, you have no credibility to my eyes because of your horrible UX.

Fwiw it scrolls fine on Android.

The underlying thesis is interesting too as a financial pitch to increase traceability. Some subtle digs at the .. less honest methodologies sometimes used in front of investors.

You lost me when you started talking about seeking money and what sells an idea to VCs, not value creation. If your goal is the money and not the product, ypu've already lost.

I get what you are trying to say, but that is obviously not the case in reality.

We are on HN, which is hosted by YC. Their entire business model is grooming would be C-Suites to tailor their products to appeal to potential VC's.

Depends their goal, the current VC landscape isn’t really value focused, unfortunately

I wanted to read this but the scroll really turned me off. Reader Mode FTW

This site scrolls at a snail's pace.

      What OS/browser are you using?

I'm using Chrome on Windows and it scrolls normally.
